NEW COURT BUILDING FOR Road & Building ( R & B ) DEPARTMENT, RAJKOT :

This is a nine storey building with shear walls as primary lateral load resisting system. The building is an ‘L‘ shaped building in plan. For better seismic performance, the building was divided in three rectangular parts with introduction of seismic joints. For each part, shear walls were introduced symmetrically on the periphery of the block. Shear walls were modeled with finite plate elements
	Due to low bearing capacity of the soil strata, foundation for the building was designed as a slab-beam type raft foundation.
Seismic joint between each part was designed and detailed based on calculated maximum horizontal deflection of each part under the worst load combination
